Durga Puja Celebration 2022
WMBCA will be celebrating Durga Puja on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Durga Puja, the ceremonial worship of the mother goddess, is one of the most vivacious festivals in India. It is an occasion for reunion and rejuvenation, and a celebration of traditional cultures and customs. Mother Durga represents the embodiment of shakti, the divine feminine force that governs all cosmic creation, existence, and change.
In India, Durga Puja is traditionally observed over a period of ten days, but we will just be observing it for two days this time. We shall devote most of the first day, October 8, to the worship of Devi Durga and related ceremonies.
The second day, October 29, will be committed to cultural integration and assimilation, with a stellar performance by a variety of local performers from Grand Rapids and nearby areas like Kalamazoo, Portage, Muskegon, and St. Joseph. We, at WMBCA, have historically seized the opportunity and will always continue offering a platform to the local talents for creating cultural awareness and harmony on this auspicious occasion.
